The species Ameca is monotypical and therefore consists of only one species, which belongs to the aquaristically most suitable Goodeids.
Breeding is not problematic either. This fish can even be kept with other peaceful species in a community tank. After all Ameca is a very recommendable fish and an enrichment for the aquarium. With this genus, beginners as experts in keeping and breeding Goodeids will not have any problems.
